HarvestMark has a great product (food traceability software) but their CMS (content management system) had become unwieldy – three different navigational schemes and a separate template for almost every page on the site. They liked the look and feel, but needed to get control of their system.

I evaluated their site across 3 dimensions – useability, information architecture and SEO, making recommendations for each. Once these were approved, I set up a new install of Umbraco (their CMS) and completely rebuilt the site, merging the various navigational schemes into one logical structure and collapsing the navigation from seven levels to three. Finally, I built out a new section of the site introducing various new products, integrated these with Marketo contact forms, and reswept the entire build, implementing SEO best practices (based on a recent study of the google algorithm) as I did so.
